Coronavirus COVID-19

Message from Chris Thomas,  Chairman, Trustees and Administrator of

Dorset Cancer Care Foundation

All 2020 events are now officially postponed with some being rescheduled at a later date,  following current Government health advice regarding the Coronavirus, we will be contacting all participants who have paid for tickets over the next few days. This continues to be a fast moving and challenging time, and we do truly appreciate your support but we are confident that it is the best course of action to take.

If you have any pressing questions at this time, please contact us by email, phone or text, otherwise we will continue to keep you up to date with any developments as soon as we are in a position to do so.

Dorset Cancer Care Foundation are continually monitoring the COVID-19 Coronavirus situation and taking any sensible and necessary precautions in line with the very latest advice provided by the Public Health England.

Our Priority remains the safety and well-being of our staff, trustees, ambassadors, volunteers and supporters, so we have had to regrettably make the decision to postpone all our face to face events as of today’s date March 17 2020 up until the end of June 2020.

During this time, we will be concentrating on still being able to financially help those recipients and their families affected by cancer.  We have to regrettably announce that due to us solely relying on fundraising events to continue our vital work it may require us to setting a maximum limit to all applications received until further notice.

We are publishing a story by our external PR that we are now having to rely on the kindness and generosity of people making donations to DCCF via other ways other than through events and this message will be circulated to all our members, on our website and all social media engines that DCCF use.

We understand people are financially struggling themselves but if you can help at all please donate so we can continue to provide a vital necessity to those applying for funding,  you can use our website and also through online retailers such as Amazon Smile.

You can help minimise the risk by following the guidance on the NHS website.

During this crisis please avoid visiting our office unless you have contacted our Administrator Nikki Davies-Thomas to make sure it is essential.   We need to also protect you and those other businesses who work within the vicinity.    You can continue to email or call us and we will help you with any queries or information you need.

From Jeff Mostyn: “Sending my very best wishes to everyone at the trust, wishing them all safety and good health throughout this unprecedented period of isolation.”

“We are extremely proud – and I know Lynzie would be too – that the money raised by her friends in her honour will go to help other families experiencing cancer. She would have really loved that.”

Paul, father of Lynzie from Bournemouth
