Gary Downes does it again!

Fresh from cycling 100 miles for DCCF on Sunday 4th August Gary Downes from Volvo Cars Poole has applied to do it all over again!

Gary from Halstock in Dorset, raised an amazing £600 for DCCF by riding the Prudential Ride 100 through London and Surrey in just six hours 57 minutes.

Receiving a certificate of appreciation from DCCF this week, the New Car Sales Manager said: “I was a bit nervous setting out as I’d never ridden that far before – but it was absolutely fantastic.”

He continued: “DCCF means so much to the team here at Volvo Cars Poole, as it provided much-needed support to one of our colleagues when she was diagnosed with cancer last year – and that definitely spurred me on.

“There were 30,000 people taking part in the ride and parts of the route were lined with supporters.

“I admit I was rather emotional when I crossed the finish line, as I felt I’d really achieved something worthwhile – and I’ve already applied to do it again next year.”

The ride many be over, but there is still time to sponsor Gary and help DCCF in its continuing work to provide financial support for Dorset people going through cancer.
