Donate in memory

It is always extremely sad when we lose a loved one, whether it’s a family member or a friend.

Many people choose to remember a loved one on their birthday, anniversary, or special occasion by donating in their memory.

Donating in someone’s name is a special way to honour their memory. Every pound helps to support individuals and families struggling financial due to cancer.

There are several ways that you can donate in memory:

  • You can speak to our fundraising team on 07849 249250
  • You can send a cheque payable to The Dorset Cancer Care Foundation to Discovery Court Business Centre, 551-553 Wallisdown Road, Poole BH12 5AG.
  • You can donate online

Alternatively, remember a loved one by setting up a personalised tribute page that friends and family can donate to. This may be on Facebook or JustGiving

Facebook

Facebook launched its charitable giving tools within the UK in November 2017. This allows people to donate to their chosen charity or start a fundraising page, directly through Facebook.

One of the benefits of this is that it allows people to donate directly to their chosen charity without having to go to a third-party website which means that The DCCF would receive the total amount from all donations received on Facebook.

To create a Facebook fundraising page to honour someone’s memory, click here or follow these steps:

  1. Click Fundraisers in the menu of your News Feed.
  2. Click Raise Money.
  3. Select Non-profit or Charity.
  4. Type in and select The Dorset Cancer Care Foundation from the list.
  5. Choose a cover photo and fill in the fundraiser details.
  6. Click Create.

  7. Click ‘Create your Page’.

Or you can organise a collection at a funeral or ask friends and family to donate to The Dorset Cancer Care Foundation instead of sending flowers. You can either do this yourself, or ask your funeral director to assist with the collection.
